A POIGNANT tribute has been paid by the husband of a Kennoway woman killed in a road crash last week.

Rosemary Fairbairn (47) died when her car was involved in a collision with a Stagecoach bus on Leven Road at around 11.30am on Thursday.

Andrew Fairbairn, who himself is a bus driver, shared the last 12 years with Rosemary, marrying her in April of this year, and has paid tribute to his wife.

He simply said: “You are my world.

“Sleep peacefully.”

A Stagecoach spokeswoman said the thoughts of everybody within the company were with Mr Fairbairn and they were offering him, and his colleague involved in the tragedy, all the support they could give.

“The double-decker bus was operating the 43 service from Leven Bus Station to Kennoway at the time,” said the spokeswoman.

“The driver of the bus was taken to hospital with a wrist injury and the three passengers on board were treated by ambulance staff for minor injuries.

“We will continue to assist the police in any way that we can with their investigation into the accident.”

The road was closed off for several hours following the incident.

Police officers are still gathering evidence surrounding the circumstances of the accident.

They are appealing to any witnesses to come forward by calling them on 0845 600 55702.
