DESPITE hopefully having the best of the summer still to come, Colinsburgh Town Hall committee members are wishing the light nights away and looking forward to the end of September after securing one of the country’s top singers to perform.

Headlining the Main Street hall on September 24 will be none other than Scottish folk singer and former Leven resident Jean Redpath (pictured).

A top draw for the town hall, which is community owned, Redpath is well known on these shores having being raised in Leven, despite being born in Edinburgh.

Leaving for America at the age of 24 she has travelled and performed all around the world and has made more than 40 recordings ranging from Robert Burns to her legendary performance of the Song of the Seals.

Tickets will be priced at £10 with a minimum age limit of 12 years. Tickets are available from Town Hall Committee members.

Meanwhile a dance will be held in Balcarres Masonic Lodge on September 10 with proceeds going to charities including the town.
