ANXIOUS residents at a troubled Methil care home are still waiting to hear what the future holds.
Forth View on Sea Road is now only one of two Southern Cross care homes in Scotland yet to be bought by an alternative operator.
The situation has dismayed Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Claire Baker, who is still seeking a reply from health secretary Nicola Sturgeon on the matter.
She said: “I’m dismayed that vulnerable residents at Forth View are still anxiously waiting for news of a new operator.
“I was also deeply disappointed the Health Secretary was unable to give a cast iron guarantee that people won’t have to go through the trauma of moving from one care home to another, when she gave a statement on Care Homes to Parliament.
“It’s crucial that contingency plans are put in place to ensure there will be continuity of care and I eagerly await a reply from the health secretary to my recent communication asking for more detail about this.
“The Scottish government must stand ready to step in to ensure a smooth transition for Forth View residents who have been living under a cloud of uncertainty for too long.”
