A plaque celebrating the life and work of the famous child poet known as Pet Marjorie now sits firmly behind a less than poetic traffic regulation order.
Kirkcaldy Civic Society’s sign outside 132 High street was installed in 1994 to commemorate ‘‘the youngest immortal in the world of letters’’ - it’s one of two such plaques in the town to the diarist, writer and poet who died at the age of just eight, and one of dozens the society has placed over the years to pay tribute to the town’s greatest sons and daughters.
