They got engaged last year and, when they are married today (Friday), there will be big celebrations in St Andrews.
Despite having their wedding date clash with two famous former St Andrews students, Debra Scott and Dale Wallace decided to go ahead and stick with their original date to get married in the town.
The couple will wed at the Rufflets Hotel this afternoon as millions of people around the world are following events at Westminster Abbey.
Debra studied at the university back in 2003 and - while working in restaurants around the town - bumped into the future king on several occasions.
But there’s only one man on her mind and nothing was going to make the happy couple rearrange their own big day.
Debra told the Citizen: “We heard rumours about when the Royal Wedding might be just after we had confirmed April 29 as our big day.
“Then I turned on the news and they confirmed it would be the same day - I couldn’t believe it.
“But it’s worked out well for us as some of our guests have got the day off as a bank holiday. It will always be our special day and now there are no excuses for forgetting our anniversary!”
