Stagecoach timetable amendments confirmed for Fife

The company recently held 16 drop in sessions across the East of Scotland to discuss proposed timetable changes with local communities.

The proposals were also listed on the company’s website and customers were invited to submit feedback via a web form or freepost address.

Throughout the consultation period, which ended on Friday, June 24, Stagecoach received a great deal of feedback on the proposals and the company have confirmed that they have made a number of revisions to the plans.

This included scrapping a proposal to stop the direct link between Cupar and Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and, following a wave of protests the under threat X26 through Auchtertool will continue to run.

Douglas Robertson, Commercial Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: “We really appreciate the feedback we’ve received from the web forms received through this site, in person at the drop in sessions, via email or from the feedback forms completed and returned to us.  

“We’ve spent the last few weeks going through the feedback and making adjustments to our proposals where possible.  

“We’re delighted that we’ve been able to make a number of improvements to our original suggestions, addressing many of the concerns our customers have raised and in some cases even improved frequencies even further.”

The full list of timetable revisions is now available to view on www.stagecoachbus.com, where Fifers can see the original proposals Stagecoach made, as well as the new adjustments the company have put forward.

Mr Robertson added: “Our plans for August are now confirmed and whilst they still reflect the changes we need to make to address lower levels of demand in various areas, we have been able to incorporate a number of positive changes, having listened to the communities involved.”

Full timetables and online journey planning will be available by the end of July, with a start date for revised timetables of August 15.
