GLENROTHES has managed to retain the ‘Scotland’s Strongest Man’ title, reports MIKE DELANEY.

Michael Daly has won the coveted prize in the final of the annual competition in Dumbarton.

It was the Rimbleton man’s second victory in the contest for under 105K, following on from his win three years ago.

Michael (51) was runner-up in 2009 and 2010, on the latter occasion to Alan Sneddon, also Glenrothes, who couldn’t compete this year because of injury.

To add to the town’s reputation for strength, Frank Connolly, Woodside, was second to Michael.

Michael, Reid Place, said: “It’s really just a co-incidence us all being from Glenrothes, but it’s good.

“But it was great to win as I really worked hard for it.”
