THERE is a lot to do for kids during the summer holidays at Kirkcaldy Galleries!

Not only can they dive into the Art Lab and get doodling, drawing and dressed-up, but there is also a series of workshops taking place inspired by the paintings on show in The People’s Pick.

For those feeling creative, go along to one of the arty craft workshops.

Artist Sophie McKay Knight will help create magical Funky Birds on Thursday, July 18, and there will be Fruity Flowery Fun on Wednesday, July 31. There are two workshops each day - from 10.30 a.m.-12.00 p.m. (4-7 year olds), then from 1.30 p.m.-3.00 p.m. (7-10 year olds). Tickets cost £3/£2.50 per child.

Participants should be prepared to get messy!

Chatterbox Stories will be telling tall tales and doing arty activities about mermaids and pirates on Friday, July 26.

Again there are two workshops, from 11.00 a.m.-12.00 p.m. (3-6 years) and then from 2.00 p.m.-3 .00 p.m. (6-10 years). Tickets cost £1.50/£1.

There is a return to the sea to round off the summer holidays when Fife-based Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre present ‘Diving Belle’ on Thursday, August 8 at 11.00 a.m. (repeated at 2.00 p.m.).

Dive into the magical world of Belle’s Carousel Café, Tom the lighthouse keeper and the glittering undersea life that surrounds these friends.

Everything seems fine and dandy, until one day a storm brews up! Must Belle reveal her magical secret? Tickets cost just £2/£1.50 per person and are strictly limited, so book early.

All events must be booked in advance – call Kirkcaldy Galleries on (01592) 513206. All children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
