Suspicious Fife fire causes significant damage

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious fire in Cardenden over the weekend.

The incident happened around 4am on Saturday, October 22 at a block of flats in Craigside Road.

A bin area was set alight, which caused significant damage to the property and resulted in a number of occupants being evacuated as a precaution.

However, no one was injured and inquiries are ongoing to trace whoever was responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Constable Kevin Daglish from Dunfermline Police Station said: “While no one was injured as a result of this very reckless act, it led to a lot of disruption for local residents and we are pursuing various lines of inquiry locally to identify the culprits.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around Craigside Road in the early hours of Saturday 22nd October, or who has information that can assist with our inquiry should contact police immediately.”
