People in Fife are being encouraged to take part in a variety of events to mark National Carers Week (June 8-14).
There are a number of events taking place in the Kingdom aimed at raising awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face and recognising the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
In Levenmouth, Homelands Trust-Fife, which offers respite holiday homes, as well as a range of information and activity sessions, will be holding a Carers Day for unpaid carers and individuals who support and look after people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
The event, which takes place on Monday from 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m., will offer a variety of alternative therapy sessions including relaxation massage, Indian Head Massage, Reki, seated exercise classes, as well as individual counseling and therapeutic art classes.
The café will also be serving food between noon and 2.00 p.m. Events are also organised to take place in Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and Dunfermline. For more, go to www.carersweek.org
