Tasty treat for party leader as Sturgeon visits Cupar

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon will be hoping that the sweet taste of marshmallow will be echoed by the sweet taste of victory at next month's Scottish Parliamentary elections.

Miss Sturgeon was visiting Cupar’s Youth Cafe when she slipped the spongy delight into her mouth after taking on a team building challenge with youngsters at the cafe.

She and local candidate Roderick Campbell joined youngsters at the cafe in building towers out of pasta and marshmallows, competing against each other to build the highest tower.

Miss Sturgeon told 18-year-old Taylor Muir that she would have a “great time” when she takes part in a five-day sailing session on the west coast next month – though she did warn her of the perils of sea sickness.
