A 15-year-old has been detected by police in Levenmouth for riding an unregistered motorcycle on Kirkland Drive, Methil.

Area ward officer Greg Mizerny said: “As a result of dedicated patrols under our local action plan Operation Ducati, we have caught another male riding a motorbike illegally, without a helmet, no insurance and without valid driving documents. He has been charged and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”

He added: “The use of motorbikes on or off-road may seem exciting and fun but such reckless behaviour can have serious or even fatal consequences.

“I urge all young motorcycle enthusiasts in the area to think twice and consider the safety of themselves and others before engaging in such activities.”

Officers will continue to be deployed with regard to action plan Ducati throughout the summer in Methil and East Wemyss.

If you have any information on crime or the illegal use of motorcycles in the Levenmouth area call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Your calls will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
