Teenagers arrested after break-in at Raith Rovers' Stark's Park

Two males, both aged 15, and a 17-year-old female were arrested and charged after police were called to Stark’s Park in Pratt Street this morning (Wednesday).

Turning up for work, club officials discovered vandalism in the press box in the Turnbull Hutton Stand.

The wooden building was rendered unusable, and it was found that a number of items had been stolen, including scoreboard equipment, electronic equipment and the mountain bike belonging to a member of staff.

Eric Drysdale, chief executive of the football club, called the break in an “appalling act”.

And he has appealed to the local community to help in the recovery of the stolen items.

He said: “I am glad that arrests have been made.

“Police enquiries are continuing, but if anyone can help us recover any of this equipment, I’d be very grateful.

“Obviously, the priority for the club meantime will be to try and get a press area operational in time for next Saturday.”

The items stolen have yet to be recovered.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police in Kirkcaldy attended at Stark’s Park around 9am this morning – April 13 – after a report of a break-in to one of the press boxes.

“Two males aged 15 and a 17-year-old female have been arrested and charged with a number of offences.

“Inquiries are on-going into the full circumstances.”

The spokesman added that anyone with any further information on the incident itself or on the whereabouts of any of the stolen items should contact police by calling 101.
