PEOPLE are being invited to step out for Maggie’s Fife this summer by registering for the seventh annual Twilight Walk.

Last year over 300 walkers raised over £16,000 by walking one, five or 10 miles through Glenrothes to raise money to support Maggie’s Fife.

And with registration now open for this year’s event, staff at Maggie’s Fife are inviting people to register to support their local centre.

Registration costs £7.50 per adult and £5 per child and dogs walk free! This year, for the first time, participants can also register online by visiting Online registration is simple and people can register whenever is most convenient.

The walk begins at 7.30 p.m on Saturday, June 1 at the Lomond Centre, Glenrothes and every walker gets a goody bag to keep them going.

Registration forms are available from James Forsyth at Maggie’s Fife. James can be contacted on (01592) 643355 ex. 28868 or by e-mail on

The Twilight Walk started in memory of one of the organiser’s friends who lost her fight against cancer in 2007. Because she had done four moonwalks, her friends thought organising a local evening walk would be a great idea.

This was to be the beginning of the Twilight Walk, which is held every year on the first Saturday in June.

Tu Edwards, community fundraiser for Maggie’s Fife and Forth Valley, said: “We are so proud that the Twilight Walk has grown each year and raised so much money for people affected by cancer in Fife.

“The walk has a fantastic atmosphere so we would like to encourage as many people as possible to register to support Maggie’s Fife especially as people can now register online.”
