Thieves steal alcohol worth £800 from Fife supermarket

The incident happened at around 3:30pm on Saturday, February 13, when a man and woman entered the Cooperative on St Andrews Road.

They proceeded to steal a selection of spirits before passing them to an unknown number of accomplices who then walked out of the shop undetected.

A significant number of bottles were removed worth an approximate total value of more than £800.

Police are carrying out inquiries in an effort to trace all of those involved and are appealing for the assistance of the public.

The man seen within the store is described as being in his mid to late 40s, has dark receding hair and was wearing dark clothing.

Officers also want to trace the woman who is believed to be in her early 30s, has blonde hair and wore a parka style jacket with pink trainers.

Sergeant Susan Cook who is based at St Andrews police station said: “This was a brazen theft that resulted in a significant amount of alcohol being stolen from this store.

“I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident or who has recently been approached to buy alcohol in the Anstruther area.”
