Three employees were arrested and detained by Home Office investigators following a swoop on the Jasmine Indian Restaurant in the Glenwood Shopping Centre at around 6.00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.

The Home Office have confirmed that three males, all thought to be of Pakistani origin, were taken into custody pending further investigation and could be expelled from the United Kingdom if found to be in the country illegally.

Eyewitnesses told the Gazette officers entered the business, exiting shortly afterwards with three men who were all put into a marked immigration van.

The Home Office has implemented a crackdown across Fife in recent months, with similar raids in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. Businesses can face fines of up to £20,000 per worker.
