Three people sustain serious injuries in Fife road crash

The crash happened on the B921 between Kinglassie and Cardenden around 2.30pm this afternoon (Thursday).

Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service were all called to the scene.

The crash involved three cars – a BMW 3251, a Jaguar S-Type and a Citroen C2.

The 42-year-old male driver of the BMW had to be flown to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmy by helicopter after sustaining serious injuries.

Two female passengers were also in the car but did not require hopsital treatment.

The 62-year-old female driver of the Citroen C2, along with a female passenger, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. Another passenger in that car sustained minor injuries but was also taken to hospital.

The 75-year-old male driver of the Jaguar sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

Inspector Brenda Sinclair from the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes said: “The road between Kinglassie and Cardenden will be closed for some time to allow for investigations at the scene.

“I would ask anyone who was on the road a the time and witnessed the collision to contact us immediately.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to our inquiries should also get in touch.”
