It was definitely a case of ‘hair today, gone tomorrow’ for a very brave teenager over the weekend.
Tia Serman (13) from Leven made the ultimate sacrifice for any young girlby shaving off her long brown locks for charity.
Money raised from Tia’s headshave is to be donated to Barnardo’s Scotland, and staff from the Leven store were delighted to welcome Tia to the shop for the charity bid.
The charity is one close to her heart as father Peter is a Barnardo’s employee.
Suzanne Mitchell from Mad Hackers hairdressers did the honours and it wasn’t long before Tia was sporting a very ‘on-trend’ buzz cut.
The teenager said: “I want to raise money for Barnardo’s Scotland to help children less fortunate than myself. My parents think I am very brave for someone my age, but I will miss doing fancy stuff to my hair for a while!”
A total of £80.70 was raised in store on Saturday, with online donations still active. Go to www.justgiving.com/TiaSerman
