Abbotsford-run care homes in Methil and East Wemyss achieved five points overall.

Across Leven, Earlsferry House care home, Leven Beach nursing home, Scoonie House and Glenburnie Care Home all achieved four points.

Concern was raised among councillors at the Levenmouth Area Committee however with standards at Forth view Care centre at Sea Road in Methil. The facility, which was last inspected in June 2015, has since improved and now merits a three -point grading.

Fife Council previously implemented a suspension in placements there but that has now been lifted, councilllors were told. Nevertheless, social work services continue to monitor an action plan at the home.

“While not brilliant, we should acknowledge that Forthview has improved and we hope they will continue to improve over time,” said Bill Kinnear, social work manager.

Cllr David Alexander said: “Auchtermairnie is a six and that’s a private home - which shows it can be done.”
