Passnegers unhurt as Fife bus catches fire

A bus caught fire on a road outside Kirkcaldy earlier this evening.

The incident happened on the Orrock Quarry Road, and no-one was injured.

The bus was south of the quarry on the B9157 near Puddledub Kennels when the blaze broke out.

Emergency services were called around 7.30 p.m.

All passengers escaped unharmed, and the fire was quickly brought under control, with traffic having to u-turn during the operation.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a bus well alight at 7.28pm.

“Crews from Lochgelly and South Queensferry attended at the Puddledub bus stop.’’
