Commuters faced severe disruption this morning between Fife and Edinburgh this morning after a person was hit by a train.

The incident happened last night between Haymarket and South Gyle, and means that a replacement bus service was put on.

A ScotRail spokesman said: “Due to a person being hit by a train yesterday evening between Haymarket and South Gyle a number of our carriages were out of position this morning resulting in some of our trains between Fife and Edinburgh running with fewer carriages than planned.”
