The roundabout – used by almost 10,000 vehicles each day – is having special high-friction surfacing applied to the northbound exit to improve grip on the road surface.

The surfacing began overnight yesterday (September 29) and is expected to last two nights. The improvements should be completed by 6:30am on Saturday, October 1.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East representative, said: “The application of high friction surfacing will improve the general condition and safety of this section of the roundabout for motorists.

“We’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any impacts to motorists, however, we encourage motorists to plan their journey in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
