Motorists have been warned of diversions as overnight closures kick in at the A92 in Glerothes.

They start from Monday for three nights to allow a £50,000 resurfacing project to take place.

The Tullis Russell roundabout in Glenrothes is set to benefit with repairs to defects to create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The road will be closed during that time between the Preston Roundabout and Balfarg Junction.

A s diversion route will be in place between Preston Roundabout Queensway, A991 then the B969 (Western Avenue). For traffic approaching from Markinch direction, a diversion will be in place via the B9130, B921 to Bankhead Roundabout.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north east representative, said: “This £50,000 project has been designed to improve the general condition and safety of Tullis Russell Roundabout on the A92 for motorists.

“The road closure is essential to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists during the project, however we’ve taken steps to minimise disruption for road users as much as possible during the improvements by carrying out the work overnight.

"We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
