A92 roadworks: new barriers installed in back to back roadworks on dual carriageway

More roadworks are planned for a busy stretch of the A92.

The overnight work to carry out road safety improvements near Lochgelly start on Sunday, June 30 and run until Friday, July 12. It will see new new vehicle safety barriers on the eastbound and westbound verges under the overbridge near Westerton Farm, approximately 1km west of the B9149 Lochgelly junction.

The improvements, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, are part of a £480,000 which covers three sections of the dual carriageway - the schemes are being carried out back-to-back in order to minimise long term disruption to the public.

Work to upgrade the barrier restraint system near Westerton Farm will take place overnight from Sunday to Thursday each week between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists itr will invovle a mixture of lane closures and overnight convoys.

On Sunday (June 30) workers will install a temporary barrier - lane 1 closures and overnight convoy on both the east and west carriageways.

From Monday, July 1 to Thursday 4th and Sunday 7th to Wednesday 10th July - Lane 1 closures on both the east and west M90 carriageways. Thursday 11, removal of temporary barrier - lane 1 closures and overnight convoy on both the east and west carriageways.

Lane closures will be lifted each morning at 6.30am before being put back in place at 7.30pm. A 50 mph speed limit will remain in place. All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are not favourable.
