Action on anti-social behaviour after large groups reported drinking on Fife trains

A call has been made to address anti-social behaviour on Fife trains after reports of large groups drinking on the circle line.

Claire Baker MSP has written to Scotrail raising worries over conduct on various routes - and urge people to report problems to the British Transport Police.

The Mid Scotland and Fife politician welcomed Scotrail’s confirmation it was working with BTP, and has urged further action to address hot spots in the region.

She said: “Following reports of large groups travelling on the Fife circle and drinking in crowds at stations and on trains, I wrote to Scotrail.

“This behaviour is not only breaking the restrictions on meeting others from a different household and unnecessary travel, it is disruptive and anti-social, and takes up the resources of Scotrail and the British Transport Police at a challenging time.

“We must ensure that travel routes for essential workers are safe.”

Antisocial behaviour on trains or in stations can be reported to BTP by texting 61016.
