Approval for Markinch Railway station parking plan
Glenrothes Area Committee has approved plans to introduce revised waiting restrictions and a residents parking scheme on streets close to Markinch Station.
Control of parking on the streets close to the station has been an issue for local residents for some time, and it is expected that the changes will encourage increased use of the railway station car parks and reduce impact on streets near the station.
The plan is to increase the maximum waiting period from 30 minutes between 11.45am-12.30pm, to two hours between 10am-4pm, for the full length of Landel Street, Selkirk Street and Union Street.
A temporary Traffic Order Regulation was introduced in 2016, banning parking for a short period each day and providing residents with permits.
