Burntisland crash: Woman in hospital after two-car collision

A woman was taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Burntisland this morning.

The incident happened lateshortly after 11am, on Kirkton Road, at the junction of Broomhill Avenue.

Police, ambulance and fire services were on the scene to attend a vehicle which had collided with a junction box.

Diversions were in place as the area was taped off while work was ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said emergency services had dealt with “a two vehicle road traffic crash on Broomhill Avenue in Burntisland which was reported at around 11.09am this morning, Tuesday, 30 March, 2021.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.03am on Tuesday, March 30, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a private car on Kirkton Road, Burntisland.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised two appliances to the scene.

“Firefighters extracted one casualty from the car and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic accident today in Burntisland.

"We transported one female patient to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

"A second patient was also assessed at the scene.”
