The incident happened earlier this morning at Thornton on the B9130, next to the railway station access road.

It appears that an attempt had been made to reverse into the station road, but the bus ended up instead on the grassy verge and bushes nearby.

It was highlighted on social media with a photo posted on the Fife Jammer Locations Facebook page.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “Due to a road closure caused by flooding, our driver tried to turn his vehicle to ensure the village could still be served.

"As the driver reversed into the railway station access road, the vehicle got stuck in the grass verge.

"The two passengers onboard were transferred onto another vehicle and no injuries were sustained.

"The vehicle has since been recovered."
