Car fire: Vehicle bursts into flames on Fife road

A car burst into flames this morning on a busy Fife road.

The incident happened just after 9am on the A921 between Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10am on Thursday, 9 July, officers received a report of a vehicle on fire on the A921 near Inverkeithing. There were no injuries and the road is due to be cleared.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.06am on Thursday, July 9 to reports of a vehicle fire near Inverkeithing.

"Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the Hillend bypass, where firefighters found a vehicle on the roadside which was well alight.

"Crews extinguished the fire and thereafter left the scene.

"There were no casualties."
