Fife motorists criticised for using disabled parking bays

During the financial year 2018/19 Fife Council’s parking teams issued 1525 fixed penalty notices on vehicles that were parking in disabled parking bays.

Councillor Brett said: “Only disabled drivers with a blue badge should be parking in disabled parking spaces. I am disturbed that so many people are blatantly ignoring this and taking parking spaces that are meant for disabled people.

“I support the action being taken by Fife Council’s parking teams to issue tickets to drivers who are doing this and hope that this activity will cease or, at the very least, reduce significantly over the next 12 months.”
