All buses in Fife have been cancelled for the rest of the day (Wednesday).
Stagecoach confirmed this afternoon that, following consultation with Police Scotland, Transport Scotland and similar to other transport operators, it has taken the decision to withdraw services across Fife from 4pm today.
Note: Service 42, which runs from St Andrews to Dundee, and service 99, which runs from Dundee to St Andrews, will still operate.
A spokesman said: “Vehicles will complete their current journeys wherever possible but will be subject to the delays/diversions as noted below, and then return to their depots.
“This will ensure the safety of all staff and customers.
“Early morning journeys across Fife will not operate and our teams will review the situation at 6am with updates to follow.
“School services will not operate tomorrow morning across Fife.”
Regular service updates will be added to Stagecoach page and the depots will continue to post specific updates directly to the Twitter feed (@StagecoachEScot) as routes are withdrawn.
