Landslip closes Kinghorn to Burntisland Road

A landslip has closed the main road between Kinghorn and Burntisland.

Following the torrential rain and stormy conditions last night, motorists are advised the A921 Kinghorn Road remains closed both ways.

The landslip at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park has closed the road between Kinghorn Golf Course and Burntisland Cemetery.

In a post on social media, Police Scotland said: “A landslide has caused the closure of the A921 between Kinghorn and Burntisland.

"Police are urging motorists to use an alternative route whilst emergency services work to re-open the road.”

Some caravans at Pettycur Bay were evacuated following the incident last night.

There were many reports of flooding over night in the area, including the Kinghorn Loch road and the Orrock Quarry Road.

Stagecoach has said this morning that its services 7 and X57 will not be serving Kinghorn, Burntisland and Aberdour today.
