The T-junction where Poplar Road meets Woodside Road will be made the subject of a "No Waiting At Any Time" restriction to promote road safety.

Colin Stirling, leading consultant in traffic management in North Fife, told the Glenrothes Area Committee on Wednesday that the junction was used by all manner of road users from heavy goods vehicles to pedestrians and cyclists.

"Representations have been received about a lack of visibility at the junction of Poplar Road with Woodside Road due to vehicles parked very close to the junction," he said in his written report to the committee.

Banning parking for 20 metres on Poplar Road and 10 metres on Woodside Road opposite the junction, he said, would "improve visibility" for all using the road.

The committee unanimously approved the proposal.
