Parking changes outside Rejects in Kirkcaldy

Councillors rubber-stamp changes at committee.

The Kirkcaldy Area Committee agreed to the moves requested by officers.

They wanted to carry out a number of ‘tidying up’ matters around the St Clair streeet and Rosslyn Street area.

The parking area outside Rejects will be extended and turned into a taxi rank, replacing the one in Cromarty Place.
This will then free up unrestricted parking on that street.

Councillors also agreed to make the stretch of road between Millie Street and McKenzie Street back to single lane traffic with the inside lane being allocated as parking or left turn lane.
Two hour restricted parking on the east side of Viewforth Street will also be removed, but the 30 minutes will remain on the west side.
A roads officer told the council: “A lot of these restrictions were done in the 1950s and 60s so are now quite out of date. Most of this is just tidying up the orders.
