Scotrail: MSP in call to ensure Fife Circle Line upgrade isn't forgotten in shake-up


The major change comes next March after Abellio’s franchise expires.
Annabelle Ewing MSP for Cowdenbeath, raised concerns over the circle line plans with Michael Matheson, Transport Secretary.

Hide AdShe said the improvements were much needed, adding - and welcomed an assurance they would not stall as a result of putting the service into an arm’s length company owned and controlled by the Scottish Government.
She said: “Commuters using the Fife Circle know that it is long overdue an upgrade and I was anxious to receive reassurance on what this will mean for the promised improvements to that particular service.
“I also welcome the news current Scotrail staff will transfer to the new Scottish Government owned company, with their terms and conditions protected. I know that this will provide much-needed security to those who rely on our railways for their livelihoods.
