TRAVEL UPDATE: No bus or train services in Fife

A spokesman for Stagecoach East confirmed there would be no bus services running in the Kingdom due to the poor weather and road conditions although some journeys may start on key routes and along main roads later.
There are also currently no trains running through Fife as lines need to be tested to ensure it is safe for them to do so following overnight snow, a spokesman said.

In a statement from Stagecoach it said: “All services are suspended at present however we may commence some journeys on key routes and along main roads only - any services we make a decision to operate will be shown in a list below as and when possible.
“Due to poor weather and road conditions, particularly due to drifting snow and inaccessible roads, no services have been operating this morning. We have assessed a number of local roads and we may introduce some services along main roads only for those requiring travel, however we are still in discussions with local authorities as this will not be possible until bus stations have been cleared. We will post updates on our Twitter feed (@StagecoachEScot) on any routes we commence.”
Meanwhile a spokesman for ScotRail added: “There are currently no trains running through Fife, as we need to test the lines to ensure that it is safe to run trains following the snow overnight.”
He advised that all service information is being posted on Twitter @@ScotRail https://twitter.com/scotrail
