The fiancée of a young Buckhaven man killed in a road crash last month has paid tribute to her ‘all-round awesome guy’.

Adam Maxwell (28) died from his injuries in Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital on November 14, the day after his Vauxhall Nova was involved in a collision with a Jeep on the Cupar to Kennoway road, near Craigrothie.

He was laid to rest in Auchtermuchty last Thursday alongside his mother Barbara, who died of cancer six years ago.

Adam and his fiancée Emma Lloyd (26) moved to Buckhaven only a few weeks ago with their sons Tyler (9) and Ethan, nearly two, and were looking forward to planning their wedding next year.

They became officially engaged five months ago after being together for 10 years.

Adam, a former pupil of Bell Baxter High School in Cupar, recently started his own bodyshop business at the town’s Prestonhall industrial estate, where hundreds of people paid tribute to him before the funeral service.

“Cars were his life-long passion,” said Emma.

“He was kind and caring and would help anyone out if they were having a problem.

“He couldn’t rest until he’d sorted out whatever the problem was.

“He had a huge circle of friends who were like family to him,” she continued.

“I’ve been really touched by the comments that have been made on Facebook.

“One pal called him ‘ a wee man with a big heart’ and another described him as ‘an all-round awesome guy’, which he was.

“He’ll be missed so much.”
