TRO for Kirkcaldy High Street set for the end of June


The Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) which will see the council take over from Police Scotland in the pedestrianised zone was supposed to come into force by the end of May.
However this has been delayed until signage is put in place along the High Street.

Hide AdHowever a spokesman for Fife Council said that work is expected to start in June and would only take a few days to complete.
He said: “Fife Council are currently in the process of appointing a contractor and work is due to take place and start in the next 3-4 weeks.
“The work itself will take 3-4 days to complete.”
Ian Smith, lead professional, traffic management, added: “The Traffic Regulation Order for Kirkcaldy High Street’s pedestrianised zone is on schedule.
“Work is underway to appoint a contractor to core through the granite sets and introduce signs to reflect the new waiting restrictions.
“Traffic access is currently a police issue and they will continue to enforce the access restrictions.”
