Two charged following serious assault in Glenrothes

Police have arrested and charged two men in connection to a serious assault in Glenrothes.

Two males, aged 35 and 29, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday, June 3 in relation to an incident in which a 30-year-old male was found with stab wounds in Malcolm Road in the Auchmuty area of the town.

Officers were called to the secene at around 8.30pm on June 1.

The injured man was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment, his injuries were not life threatening.

The news of the arrests will come as a relief for residents after growing concerns following a number of violent incidents in the area in recent weeks.

Police have stepped up patrols and increased officer presence in Auchmuty following the attack.
