Two charged, three hurt in incident which drew armed police to sealed off Fife street

Two people have been charged following an incident in a Fife town which saw a street sealed for several hours off by armed officers.

Three people were also injured.

The incident in Halfields Gardens Kennoway, happened yesterday.

Armed officers formed part of the significant police response as they were called to the area shortly before midday amid reports of concern for a man.

They remained for five hours.

Police have now confirmed that two people have been charged in connection with the incident.

They also said three people - two men, aged 25 and 23, and a 50-year old woman – were injured and required medical treatment, but their condition is not life threatening.

A statement from Police Scotland read: “Around 12.40am on Saturday, we received a report of disturbance at a property in Halfields Gardens in Kennoway.

“Three people, a 25-year-old man, a 23-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were injured and required medical treatment but their condition is not life threatening.

“A 34 year old man was arrested.

“Officers subsequently attended at another address in Halfields Court on Saturday as part of the ongoing investigation.

“A 27 year old man was traced nearby and arrested in connection with the above incident.”

The duo are due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday
