For pensioner Andy Morrison got more than he bargained for when he stepped out into his garden in Turnberry Drive in the Dunnikier Estate area of the town with the hope of getting a glimpse of the rare astrological event of a ‘super moon’.

Instead, Mr Morrison was captivated by an unidentified flying object and is calling on the public to see if others saw it or know what it was.

“There was no visible shape just the lights, no sound and seemed to be several hundred feet high,” explained Mr Morrison.

“I am a retired electronics engineer who has been involved in military electronic systems for aircraft all my life and I have never seen anything like this.”

I’d estimate it to have been about 500 feet high and had a very fast traverse, the whole incident lasted no more than 30 seconds.

The incident took place at around 6pm on Monday, November 14 and Mr Morrison is keen to learn if others also saw the mystery fly past.

“I’m pretty sure Kirkcaldy wasn’t being invaded by aliens, but I’d love to know what it actually was,” Mr Morrison joked.
