Police have blocked off the route from Kirkcaldy to Kinghorn and Burntisland due to treacherous road conditions.

Kirkcaldy to Kinghorn road closed

The A921 Kinghorn Road is closed at the roundabout which leads to East Vows Walk, and police are redirecting traffic.

Several cars have been abandoned at the side of the road, with some locals deciding to walk the rest of their journey.

Fife is currently on a red alert for snow, the first time the level of warning has been issued, and all residents are being urged not to travel.

Stagecoach has also confirmed that all bus services in Fife will be withdrawn for the rest of the day.

Fife Council confirmed all Fife schools and nurseries will be closed for a second day tomorrow, as well as Fife College.
