Firefighters extinguished a car after it burst into flames at Kirkcaldy Harbour this morning.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the old landrover after it caught fire shortly before 9am.

One fire crew from Kirkcaldy attended the scene and fortunately no-one was injured in the incident close to the St James Church car park.

The vehicle was extinguished within half an hour.

An eyewitness from the nearby flats at Williamson’s Quay said: “I saw the smoke first before I went to the other room and saw the vehicle on fire from the window.

"Usually there are other cars parked in that area but fortunately the old landrover was sitting on its own. Luckily there was no-one hurt.”
