Friday, July 1 marks 100 years since the start of the Battle of the Somme, the bloodiest battle in British military history.
As commemorations and vigils take place across the UK and the rest of the world to remember those who gave their lives during the 141 days of the battle, this video from the MoD gives a glimpse into one of the most defining conflicts of the First World War.
