A RECENT charity event which took place in Star proved to be many people’s ‘cup-of-tea’ and confirmed that old fashioned community spirit is still very much alive.
The Vintage Tea Party held at Star Village Hall was a resounding success, managing to raise £2,700 much needed funds for The Eve Appeal, the only UK charity funding groundbreaking research into all five gynaecological cancers.
The event was held as part of The Eve Appeals vintage themed ‘Make Time for Tea’ campaign.
Robert Marsh from the Eve Appeal said: “We are really grateful to everyone involved for this superb support.
“Events like this are so important in raising awareness of gynaecological cancers whilst also raising vital funds for this fundamentally important research.”
