VIOLINIST Vladislav Steinberg tunes up at St Leonards School for a forthcoming performance in the Music For You concert, to be held in St Andrews' Younger Hall next Saturday (6)

The 33-year-old Georgian, who has been at St Leonards for three years, teaches violin and viola at the school and also conducts the orchestra.

He will be special guest at the annual concert, once again organised by St Andrews Rotary Club and expected to be a sell out.

Vladislav studied music at Moscow Music College and then the Moscow Conservatory. He also has a post-graduate degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London.

Away from music, Vladislav is also an accomplished writer and poet who has published two novels.

A virtuoso violinist, he will be playing music by Tchaikovsky at the concert which will commence at 7.30 p.m.

The programme will also feature music by Johan Strauss, Elgar and Gilbert and Sullivan, ending with a grand finale of Scottish music.

Also on stage will be the Heisenberg Ensemble, conducted by Gillian Craig, the Celebration Chorus, the Younger Fiddle Group, The Children's Choir and Saxtravaganza.

Drinks and refreshments will be available and, as all proceeds from the concert are for charity,a raffle will also be held.
