Voters continue heading to the polls in large numbers throughout the afternoon

There was a steady stream of people heading along to Capshard Primary in north Kirkcaldy to cast their vote this afternoon.

The polling station was busy in the morning as many went along before work and campaigners were expecting large numbers later on today.

The Better Together and Yes supporters said so far there had been good humour among voters and both are looking forward to tomorrow’s result.

Speaking to the Press at Capshard Primary one voter said: “We don’t feel there has been enough full information given and you feel like you aren’t getting proper answers to your questions. But we do still think it is important to vote.”

While another added: “Our forefathers fought for the vote so why waste it? I think people have to vote today - it’s too important not to.”
