TWO local instructors are set to bring Fife’s first-ever Zumba masterclass to Kirkcaldy next month.
Paula Heggie and Di Lafferty, who both teach Zumba in the town, are organising the two-hour event in the Adam Smith Theatre on Friday, August 24 from 7.00-9.00 p.m.
Paula said as well as featuring local Zumba instructors, the masterclass will also feature Vanessa Morris, UK Zumba education specialist.
“I first met Di when I was covering her Zumba class for her and we have been friends ever since,” Paula said.
“We now run a class together on a Wednesday at the Cottage Family Centre from 6.30-7.30 p.m. Di also does classes at Torbain Church on Monday and Thursday evenings.
“We thought it would be a great idea to bring a Zumba masterclass to Kirkcaldy.
“Zumba is so popular and normally the masterclasses are held in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Newcastle, so we thought it would be good to have Fife’s first masterclass here in the town.
“Normally these events are just for instructors to take part in so it will be a good chance for people who go to Zumba classes to see how a masterclass is taught.
‘‘The event is for people, over the age of 16, of all abilities who may have or haven’t done Zumba before. If they haven’t, this is the perfect opportunity to come along and give it a try!”
Paula added: “People don’t have to take part for the full two hours, they can take breaks and just join back in if they want.
“We want them to come along, have fun and enjoy the party atmosphere.”
Tickets, priced £10, are available from Paula, who can be contacted via email - email@example.com - or by phone on 07865 9000 26 and Di via email - firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 0753 983 9396.
