The poor conditions are expected to start in the morning at 6am on Saturday October 31 and last till 23:59 on Sunday November 1.

The Met Office have announced that there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings and fast flowing or deep floodwater could cause a danger to life.

There is also a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services, communities being cut off by flooded roads, power cuts and loss of other services.

The Met Office said flooding could also lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

This news comes after Fife was severely hit by flooding which was declared a major incident in August this year. Areas such as Cardenden were devastated by the floods, leaving many homes in ruins and residents feeling ‘neglected’ by the Council due to what many claimed was a lack of support in the aftermath.

In a twitter post, Fife Council directed anyone concerned about the weather warning to their Flooding Advice Page and said for those worried to check SEPA for regular updates.

Andy Page, chief meteorologist at the Met Office said that the weather warning at the end of October across parts of the UK comes from remnants of decaying tropical hurricanes.

He said: “It is rain rather than wind that will dominate our attention later in the week with a so-called ‘warm conveyor’ set up to bring a flow of very moist and warm air to the UK from further south in the Atlantic, triggering heavy rainfall for high ground in the west of the UK.

"We have issued a Yellow warning for rain covering parts of Wales, South West Scotland and North-west England for Thursday and Friday as additional rainfall in these areas may lead to impacts, including flooding.
