Fife snow: Schools, recycling centres closed, bin services disrupted

Many Fife schools are closed, recycling centres are shut today and bin collection services are disrupted as a result of the wintry weather.

A statement issued by Fife Council said heavy snow falls are continuing to cause disruption across the Kingdom.

It said teams are out clearing roads and staff are working hard to get to as many routes as possible.

A number of schools were closed yesterday along with recycling centres and the situation is the same today.

The statement continued: “Many schools are closed again today. Parents and carers will have been contacted directly but please check our disruption page on www.fife.gov.uk/closures for any updates and information about tomorrow.

“Bin collections are again disrupted. If your bin is due to be collected today please leave it out and we will come back as soon as we can.

“Our recycling centres are closed today and we ask anyone due to visit today to re-book for another time.”
